En Ausencias es un proyecto de Verónica Cámara Beviá que trata el tema de la creación de la identidad y la memoria mediante la búsqueda de fotografías antiguas de individuos desconocidos, a los cuales se les añade una nueva identidad inventada.

retratada.
Descripción
del proyecto: En 2011 compré en el rastro de La Latina, Madrid, un
negativo en cristal de unos 6 x 10cm. En este negativo aparece fijada
la imagen de una mujer joven, vestida de manola y con un ligero
estrabismo en el ojo derecho. Una identidad ausente que me dispongo a
recrear. Trato la problemática de la conformación de una identidad
y de la memoria inventada.
Discurso
expositivo: Para esta exposición usé la profundidad de la taquilla,
colocando fotografías en la parte delantera y textos en la parte de
atrás. Las fotografías iban pegadas a unas gomas que a su vez
estaban enganchadas a un par de ganchos en los extremos de la
taquilla. Los textos se colocaban en la parte de atrás de la taquilla, por que que obligaba al espectador a adentrarse en el espacio. Por otro lado, en la parte interior de la puerta
encontramos un cartel con información sobre la muestra, el
artista y el proyecto de comisariado. También se colocó un pequeño foco pegado a la pared, ya que el espacio no dispone de una buena luz natural.

Project Description: In 2011 I bought on the La Latina market, Madrid, a crystal negative (6 x 10cm) . Where appeared the image of a young woman with a slight squint in the right eye. An absent identity that I am about to recreate . I treat the problem of forming an identity and invented memory.
Exhibition discourse : For this exhibition used the depth of the locker, placing photographs on the front and text on the back . The photographs were attached to a rubber which in turn were hooked to a pair of hooks on the ends of the locker. The texts were placed in the back of the space, forcing the viewer to enter the space. On the other hand, the inside of the door found a poster with information about the exhibition, the artist and curatorial project. A small bulb attached to the wall was also placed, the space does not have good natural light.
